## DOUCE FRANCE At 42.2 metres, DOUCE FRANCE is the largest schooner sailing catamaran in the world — a distinction she carries without fuss. Her crew and regular guests call her the "Gentle Giant," and the nickname fits: for all her scale, she moves with the composure of a yacht built to sail properly rather than simply to impress at anchor. A refit completed in 2023 keeps her presentation current. Her twin hulls buy something no monohull of comparable length can offer — deck space that never feels rationed. The aft deck gives over to sunbathing, while forward the trampolines remain the seat everyone eventually claims, close enough to the water to catch the spray as she makes way. Cruising at 10 knots with a shallow draft, she reaches anchorages that deeper-keeled yachts must admire from a distance, which is very much the point of chartering her. Six air-conditioned cabins accommodate twelve guests: an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, and four cabins with twin beds, each sleeping two. Detailed bed configurations are available on request. Each cabin runs to roughly 16 square metres — genuinely generous by sailing yacht standards — lined in pale sycamore, with en suite facilities that keep shower and head separate, and a desk that converts to a dressing table. The interior elsewhere turns to mahogany and rosewood, warm and quietly done rather than showy. The curvaceous deckhouse is the space that defines life aboard, with 360-degree views that follow the coastline as she sails. The main saloon is unusually well thought out for long charters, incorporating a private office and a library — the kind of provision that matters when a week aboard stretches into two. Activity aboard is what you want it to be. Diving, big game fishing and water sports are all part of the programme; so is doing nothing at all in the shade of the aft deck. The crew's role is to make the transition between the two feel effortless, reading the day rather than imposing a schedule on it.
