PROMITHEAS — Beneteau Oceanis 51.1, Greece Launched in 2022 and based at Alimos Marina, on the doorstep of Athens, PROMITHEAS is a Beneteau Oceanis 51.1 set up for exactly the kind of chartering the Aegean rewards: early departures, long reaching legs between islands, and anchorages reached under sail rather than engine. The layout is unusually generous for a 51-footer. Six cabins in all: five with a double bed, and a sixth with a single bed, generally kept for the skipper. Eleven guests can be accommodated, with three heads, each with its own shower, spread through the yacht so that no group of cabins shares a single compartment — a detail that matters far more on a two-week charter than it does on paper. The interior is air-conditioned and heated, which extends the season comfortably at both ends. The galley is properly fitted out — fridge, oven, cooker, sink and a full set of utensils — for provisioning ashore and cooking aboard rather than eating out every night. An audio system runs to cockpit speakers, and the bimini keeps the helm and dining area shaded through the middle of the day. Under way, the furling mainsail makes shortening sail a one-person job, and the bow thruster takes the anxiety out of stern-to berthing in a crowded Cycladic quay. A generator handles the electrical load at anchor.
