Gitanes — 35.1m Benetti Benetti launched her in 1982, and four decades later the Italian yard's signature is still legible in her proportions: a steel hull, an aluminium superstructure, and the kind of generous interior volume that modern yachts of the same length rarely match. A refit completed in 2025 brings her systems and finishes up to current expectations, which matters more on a yacht of this vintage than any spec sheet can convey. Accommodation is arranged across four cabins for up to ten guests: the owner's cabin, a further cabin with a double bed, and two cabins fitted with twin beds. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. It is a layout that works as well for two families sailing together as for a group of friends — the flexibility is real, not theoretical. Onboard, the living areas are the point. They are laid out to be lived in rather than admired: several distinct spaces, indoors and out, where a group of ten naturally spreads out over the course of a day without anyone feeling on top of anyone else. Families settle in easily here. Twin Caterpillar engines give a comfortable 10-knot cruise and a top speed of 12 knots, with a range of up to 3,800 nautical miles from 36,700 litres of fuel — enough autonomy for genuinely long passages rather than short hops. A stabilisation system keeps things settled underway, which is what makes the difference between a crossing endured and a crossing enjoyed. Her cruising grounds are the South of France, Corsica, Italy and Sardinia — the classic Western Mediterranean triangle, with the anchorages and coastal towns that come with it. The crew handles the rest: attentive without hovering, and well used to reading what a charter party actually wants from its week aboard.
