Mathieu, founder of BellaYacht Charter

I personally support you in choosing and booking your yacht, by the day or by the week. A yacht broker since 2015, I founded BellaYacht Charter in 2019 to give access to a fleet of some of the finest units available in the Mediterranean and beyond — no unnecessary middlemen.

My commitment: a fast, personal response to every request, concrete proposals rather than a plain catalog, and support at every step — from the first contact to your return to port.

Lotus — Motor Sailer, Croatia Some yachts announce themselves with volume. Lotus does it with line: a low, classically drawn motor sailer whose silhouette tends to draw a second look in every harbour she enters, without ever asking for one. She was launched in 2006 by Huzur Yat, one of Turkey's more respected builders in the luxury segment, and she was built for one man — a genuinely committed sailor who wanted a yacht he could sail properly, not merely sit aboard. Twelve years of private ownership left an unusual footnote in her history: fewer than 300 hours on the main engine. Not neglect, but the mark of an owner who preferred to be under sail, and whose diary in the end simply couldn't keep up with the yacht. She changed hands in August 2018, acquired by a Croatian owner and introduced to the Croatian charter market for the 2019 season. That sailing pedigree still defines the experience on board. Lotus carries serious sailing equipment, which means the rig is there to be used — the shift in sound and motion when the engine goes quiet, the deck taking on a gentle angle, the Adriatic islands arriving at their own pace rather than at cruising revs. She reconciles that with the comfort expected of a private charter yacht, which is a balance not every motor sailer manages. Accommodation is arranged over four cabins for eight guests: an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, a further cabin with a double bed, and a fourth with twin beds. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. The interior has a considered, unshowy style. The salon is generous and full of light, wrapped in large windows that keep the coastline present rather than framed at a distance — a sense of openness that carries straight through to the exterior decks, where inside and out flow into one another and there is real space for dining al fresco. Days settle naturally into two rhythms: long, unhurried stretches at anchor, and the water sports equipment on board for those who prefer their swims to involve some momentum. The crew look after the sailing, the anchorages and the table, with the sort of quiet attentiveness that leaves guests free to do very little. If what you're after from a charter is a return to something calmer — sail, sea, silence, and the Croatian islands taken slowly — Lotus makes a persuasive case.
