BLUE MOON — Lagoon 52F, Thailand Blue Moon is a Lagoon 52F sailing catamaran based in Phuket, and one of the most consistently requested yachts on the Andaman charter circuit — a reputation built less on marketing than on repeat guests and the crew who look after them. The 52F is a well-judged platform: 8.6 metres of beam and a full flybridge translate into an unusual amount of usable space for a yacht of this length, spread across shaded cockpit, saloon, foredeck and upper deck. Sailors will notice the design detail — a taller mast set further aft, which allows a larger self-tacking headsail and a shorter, more manageable boom. In practice, that means real sailing without a foredeck drill every time the wind shifts. Accommodation is arranged over five cabins for ten guests: four with queen-size beds, plus a further cabin fitted with bunk beds. All have en suite facilities, and the crew are accommodated separately — a distinction that matters over a week aboard. Interiors are bright and uncluttered, with large windows, high headroom and a pale palette; well-placed hatches and portholes keep air moving throughout. On board you'll find air conditioning, a 32" television in the saloon, Bose speakers in the saloon, cockpit and on the flybridge, a Nespresso Lattissima Touch machine, washer/dryer, dishwasher, watermaker, fresh-water electric heads, a heated deck shower and blue underwater lights for evenings at anchor. A crew of two runs the yacht: a skipper who knows where to be and when, and a hostess/chef handling the galley and the service. Shore-side management operates directly from Ao Po Grand Marina, which simplifies everything from arrival logistics to itinerary changes. The cruising ground justifies the trip. Phang Nga Bay and the wider Andaman Sea offer uninhabited anchorages shared with monkeys and hornbills, marine national parks with serious diving, and — when you want them — beach clubs, resorts and restaurants within tender range. For the water: two kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, ten sets of snorkelling equipment and a Highfield OM 390 tender with a 40hp outboard. Diving, kitesurfing, rock climbing, golf and sailing tuition can be arranged locally at additional cost.
