CHARTER IN THE BAHAMAS ABOARD PLAYTIME PLAYTIME is a Lagoon 64 power catamaran based in Nassau, and she is built for exactly the kind of cruising the Bahamas rewards: shallow draft, wide decks, and the stability that makes a passage between cays feel like nothing at all. Delivered in 2018 and refitted in 2021, she has the settled, well-kept feel of a yacht that is genuinely used and genuinely maintained. The appeal of a power catamaran on this cruising ground is practical rather than theoretical. The living areas run wide instead of long, so the main saloon, the cockpit and the flybridge all read as one continuous space — you move from a shaded lunch to a lounge in the breeze without ever feeling you have changed rooms. It suits long, unhurried days at anchor over the Exuma sandbanks. Accommodation is arranged in three cabins for six guests: one with a king-size bed and two with queen-size beds. It is a configuration that works naturally for a single family or two or three couples travelling together, with no one relegated to a lesser standard of comfort. For time off the yacht, PLAYTIME carries a 19' Boston Whaler tender, underwater scooters, snorkelling equipment, fishing tackle, wakeboards and paddleboards — enough to fill a week of island-hopping without leaving the water. The crew look after the yacht year-round in Bahamian waters and know the anchorages, the tides and the timing that make the difference between a good day and a memorable one. Charters in The Bahamas are also free of charter tax, a straightforward advantage worth factoring into your planning.
