Gigreca — 78' Admiral, sailing Greece A 78-foot sailing yacht from Admiral, Gigreca carries the kind of pedigree that shows in her proportions before you ever step aboard: minimalist lines drawn for performance, finished throughout with a level of detail that belongs to a very different category of cruising. Her refit was completed in 2020, and she charters through the Greek islands for up to eight guests with a crew of three. Life aboard happens largely outside. The cockpit is generous — two sofa beds facing one another, two folding dining tables — sheltered by a hard-top and glass sprayhood with a retractable roof panel, so the space works equally well under full sun or a cooling evening breeze. Her deck runs largely unobstructed: sunbeds atop the superstructure, and forward of the mast a genuinely comfortable lounge with sofa, cushions and a low table in the shade, the natural place for a drink and something to pick at after a swim. At anchor, the swim platform opens up a further spot right at sea level, where refreshments can be served between sessions in the water. Inside, the elevated superstructure is glazed on all sides, which makes the salon one of the brightest indoor spaces you'll find on a yacht of this size. An L-shaped sofa wraps a large dining table; there's a bar, entertainment system and television, and the galley sits close by. The materials throughout are of a piece with the exterior — considered, quietly expensive. Four cabins accommodate eight guests. The master suite is aft, a VIP double cabin lies forward of the salon, and two further cabins follow — one with a double bed, one with twin beds — each with en-suite facilities finished in marble. The crew of three are experienced and, by every account, warm hosts — the kind who read a charter party quickly and adjust accordingly. Gigreca suits guests who want real sailing rather than the idea of it, without giving up the comfort of a properly appointed yacht at anchor each evening.
