BAREFOOT BLISS — 16.8m / 54ft Bali Catamarans, 2024 A 2024 launch from Bali Catamarans, BAREFOOT BLISS brings the practical intelligence of the French yard to the trade-wind sailing grounds of the Caribbean — the Leeward Islands and the British Virgin Islands, where a catamaran of this size is arguably the most sensible way to travel. Accommodation is unusually even-handed for a 54-footer: four cabins, each with a queen-size bed and its own en-suite. Eight guests, four equal claims to comfort — which removes the familiar negotiation over who gets the good cabin and makes the yacht equally suited to two couples, four, or a family travelling together. She cruises at 8 knots with a top speed of 12, a pace that suits the short inter-island hops of the BVI far better than any rush. The catamaran platform delivers what monohulls of similar length cannot: level decks under sail, shallow draft for anchorages closer in, and generous horizontal living space rather than vertical volume. A crew of two runs the yacht — captain and chef/hostess in the classic pairing, close enough to read the rhythm of the week and discreet enough to leave you to it.
