GELIDONYA II — 26m Gulet, Bodrum Shipyard There is a particular rhythm to a gulet: broad timber decks, generous shade, and a hull that moves through the water at an unhurried eight knots. GELIDONYA II belongs to that tradition without apology. Launched in 1998 by Bodrum Shipyard — the yard whose name is effectively shorthand for the type — she measures 26 metres and carries the proportions that make these yachts so well suited to long, slow summer days. A refit completed in 2017 brought her up to date for contemporary charter. Accommodation is arranged across six cabins for twelve guests: an owner's cabin and five further cabins, each with a double bed. All cabins have en-suite facilities, which matters on a yacht of this configuration — a full charter group of twelve never has to negotiate over a shared bathroom. That capacity is the real argument for GELIDONYA II. Twelve guests in six comparable, self-contained cabins is a rare balance, and it makes her a natural fit for extended families or groups of friends travelling together rather than a single couple. Nobody is relegated to the difficult cabin. A crew of three looks after the yacht and her guests, with the informality that suits a gulet: attentive service, well-judged timing, and none of the ceremony that would feel out of place under an awning at anchor. She operates in the Western Mediterranean, with Naples and Sicily as her natural cruising ground — the Amalfi Coast, the Aeolians, the Sicilian shore. At eight knots, these are waters you read properly rather than simply cross.
