M/C ENDEMIC — Galápagos Islands Some yachts are built for a coastline. Endemic was built for an archipelago. This carbon-neutral catamaran is the first of a new generation, and the intent shows in the way she moves: her hull form delivers real transverse stability, so the inter-island passages — often the least comfortable part of a Galápagos itinerary — are quick, level and unremarkable in the best sense. You arrive at the next landing site ready to go ashore. Sixteen guests are looked after by eleven crew, including a Cruise Service Officer and a naturalist guide. That is close to one-to-one, and in a destination where the day is structured around landings, briefings, tides and wildlife windows, that ratio is what separates a well-run expedition from a merely comfortable one. Accommodation Eight Panoramic Suites, four on the main deck and four on the upper deck. Each has its own private balcony and floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall glazing, so the islands stay in view from the moment you wake. Individually controlled marine air conditioning, a small seating area with sofa bed, desk, wardrobe and drawer storage, and a private bathroom with hot and cold water and amenities. Life on board The main deck holds the interior guest lounge and dining area — again fully glazed, so meals and passages share the same panorama — alongside a dedicated briefing area for lectures and the yacht's information point for Galápagos travel, with videos, reference books and one-to-one guidance from the guide team. The cuisine is a genuine part of the experience rather than an afterthought. Two boarding platforms make getting on and off the catamaran straightforward, which matters more than it sounds when you are doing it several times a day. Interior stairs lead up to the upper deck and its four remaining suites, a sun terrace and a series of quieter, sheltered social spaces and terraces — the places you gravitate to with binoculars when a frigatebird colony passes to starboard. Exterior stairs give an alternative route up. The sky deck is the social heart in the evening: al fresco dining, bar, exterior guest lounge, a BBQ station, jacuzzi, sun loungers and a shaded seating area where drinks are served as the archipelago slides past.
