Ferretti 780 — 24 metres, Indonesian waters A Ferretti 780 is a yacht built around sightlines. Rather than routing the flybridge stairway through the middle of the deck, the designers folded it into the side of the hull — a decision that keeps the eye travelling uninterrupted from the aft cockpit all the way forward, and hands back a meaningful amount of floor area to the main salon. The result reads more openly than the dimensions alone suggest. That salon is furnished in heartwood and teak instead of the cherry that dominates this size bracket, a warmer and less formal palette, offset by light furnishings and two contemporary sofas. Wide windows do the rest: at anchor, the sea sits close enough to feel like part of the room. Accommodation is arranged over four cabins for eight guests. The owner's cabin is the most considered space aboard, with a generous en suite bathroom; a VIP cabin follows, along with two further cabins fitted with twin beds. Detailed bed configuration available on request. The yacht completed a refit in 2019. An aft garage frees the transom and swim platform for their proper purpose — getting in and out of the water without the clutter, and keeping the water toys stowed until they are wanted. Her cruising grounds follow the seasons. Summers run through Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba, Flores, Alor and Timor. Winters head east and north to Ambon, Banda, Halmahera and Ternate, then on to West Papua, Raja Ampat, Kaimana, Biak and Wakatobi — some of the most rewarding diving and island cruising anywhere in the archipelago.
