Built in 2019 by Fountaine Pajot, JIOIA 3 is a 14.30m (47ft) sailing catamaran that makes the case for the Caribbean at its most straightforward: shallow anchorages, short hops between islands, and a deck plan that keeps everyone together rather than scattered across levels. Accommodation is unusually even-handed for a catamaran of this size. Three cabins each have a queen-size bed and en-suite facilities, sleeping six guests — the primary suite plus two further cabins, all on the same footing. For two couples travelling together, or a family sharing the boat, nobody draws the short straw. Under sail she cruises at 7 knots with a top speed of 9, which is the right rhythm for the Leewards and the Windwards: leave after breakfast, arrive in time to swim before lunch. A single professional crew member handles the yacht, the cooking and the day-to-day, which gives the charter a relaxed, informal character — closer to sailing with a very capable friend than to a formal service aboard a larger yacht. Best suited to guests who want the islands themselves to be the attraction, and a yacht that gets them there quietly and comfortably.

That first-hand familiarity with the region — and a particular attachment to Antigua — shapes the itineraries and local insight shared on board.
