M/Y INDY — Bahamas and New England INDY belongs to that useful category of yacht that travels quickly without asking her guests to notice. A 19-knot cruising speed and 25 knots at the top end mean the run between anchorages is measured in a drink rather than an afternoon, and the solid fiberglass hull and Naiad stabilizers keep that pace civilised. Her 21.3-foot beam is what most 90-footers carry, which explains the unusual sense of volume once you step aboard — helped along by 76-inch ceilings that make the interior feel considerably larger than the numbers suggest. The 2023 refit was handled by interior designer Patrick Knowles, and the result reads as a coherent whole rather than a series of updates. The main salon is furnished to custom order, with a formal dining area built around a marble table designed for the space. It works equally well for a long breakfast at anchor and for an evening spent on the sofa with something from the full bar. The galley and its adjoining seating area can be closed off, which matters more than it sounds: it gives the crew room to work and guests a quieter salon. Outside, the aft deck's U-shaped sofa is the natural setting for dinner in the open air. Up top, the aft flybridge carries the grill, loungers and a settee positioned for sunset, while the enclosed section forward offers two sofas, a second bar and a pop-up television — the right room for watching the horizon when the breeze picks up or the sun is at its strongest. Accommodation is for eight guests in four cabins. The full-beam owner's cabin includes a lounge area and an ensuite with His and Hers entries and an oversized shower. A VIP cabin follows, then a cabin with a double bed and a fourth with twin beds. Each cabin has its own ensuite, a Smart TV and generously appointed robes. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. An extended hydraulic swim platform makes getting in and out of the water straightforward, and a professional crew of four looks after the whole operation — New England through the summer, Florida and the Bahamas in winter.
