FIREFLY — 28.65m (94ft) · Mulder · 2015 Dutch-built and it shows. FIREFLY came out of the Mulder yard in 2015, a chantier whose reputation rests on quiet, well-engineered displacement cruising rather than on statement-making. The interior is the work of Vickers Design Studio, and the whole yacht carries that particular Northern European restraint: solid, considered, made to be lived in over long weeks rather than admired for an afternoon. She accommodates eight guests across four cabins — an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, and two further cabins each with a double bed. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. A crew of four looks after the yacht and her guests, a ratio that keeps service attentive without ever feeling crowded on a yacht of this size. Under way she cruises comfortably at 16 knots, with 18 knots available when the schedule tightens — enough to make a lunch anchorage on one coast and a dinner berth on another entirely realistic. Her cruising ground is Malta, Sicily and mainland Italy: the Blue Lagoon at Comino, the baroque harbours of the Val di Noto, the Aeolian volcanoes, then north along the Tyrrhenian coast as the itinerary dictates. It's a stretch of the Mediterranean that rewards a yacht able to move between islands without fuss, and FIREFLY is well suited to exactly that kind of week.
