## Rara Avis — 33m sailing yacht, Croatia Her name is Latin for "rare bird", and it suits a yacht that carries the weight of seventy years of family shipping tradition without ever feeling heavy. At 33 metres, Rara Avis is built from modern high-tech materials and finished with a hand-laid teak deck and a clean, elegant sail plan — the kind of yacht that reads as contemporary from a distance and as carefully made once you step aboard. She charters the Dalmatian coast and its islands, a cruising ground made for a sailing yacht of this size: short hops between Hvar, Vis and the Kornati, deep anchorages, and evenings spent stern-to in a stone harbour that hasn't changed much in a century. Accommodation — Six cabins accommodate twelve guests: an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, two cabins with a double bed, and two further cabins. Each is air-conditioned with its own en suite shower and WC, hairdryer, toiletries, and both bath and beach towels provided. Detailed bed configuration available on request. Living aboard — The interior lounge is modern in design, with a distinct seating area, dining space and bar, so the saloon works equally well for a long lunch out of the midday sun or a quiet evening in. Outside, the aft deck is given over to al fresco dining — in this part of the Adriatic, it is where most of the day ends up being spent. The sun deck is the yacht's social centre: a Jacuzzi, sun loungers, an outdoor bar and comfortable sofas arranged for that hour when the light goes long over the islands and someone starts mixing drinks. Aft, the swim platform gives immediate, unfussy access to the water. Crew and toys — Six professional crew run the yacht with a warm, unforced style of service — attentive without hovering, and genuinely enthusiastic about the coast they sail. The toy locker holds a jet ski, stand-up paddleboards, diving equipment, water skis and inflatables, with a good selection of board games aboard for slower afternoons.
