A GREAT ESCAPE — 30.30m (98ft) Ocean Alexander, 2008 Cruising the West Coast of Canada, A GREAT ESCAPE — previously known as GEORGIA L — carries the signature of Ocean Alexander, a yard whose motoryachts have long been favoured on this coastline for their sea-keeping and their sense of proportion. At 30.30 metres, she is a yacht you read quickly and understand immediately: generous where it counts, unfussy everywhere else. Accommodation is arranged over four cabins for eight guests. The owner's cabin is fitted with a king-size bed, while two further guest cabins each offer a queen-size bed. The fourth cabin is laid out with twin beds — the practical option for children, friends travelling together, or a couple who simply prefer their own space. It is a layout that suits two families as easily as a single party. Her performance profile is well matched to the cruising grounds she knows best. A cruising speed of 18 knots covers ground between anchorages without eating into the day, and 24 knots at the top end gives the captain genuine margin — useful when weather windows in these waters open and close on their own schedule. A crew of two looks after the yacht and her guests: a close, discreet service model where the same familiar faces handle everything from the morning coffee to the evening line ashore. It works particularly well for charterers who value privacy on board over ceremony. For the fjords, inlets and island channels of British Columbia, A GREAT ESCAPE is a straightforward, capable proposition — a well-built motoryacht with the range of comfortable cabins to make a week aboard feel unhurried.
A selection in the same zone, with a comparable profile.
