The result is a hand-crafted wooden schooner of 30 metres, conceived from the outset for a single purpose: exploring Indonesia's 18,000 islands properly, at the pace they deserve. Traditional shipwrighting sits alongside genuinely current marine technology aboard. Safety and ecological restraint shaped the design rather than being added afterwards — low-consumption systems, advanced sanitation to limit her footprint, and modern materials that allow her to run silently under sail. Single-use plastics have been removed from life on board entirely. A refit completed in 2022 keeps her current. She accommodates six guests across three cabins: one with a king-size bed, two others each fitted with twin beds. The scale is deliberately intimate — this is a yacht that feels lived-in and warm rather than ceremonial, closer to a well-appointed expedition home than a floating hotel. Sequoia's cruising ground is the Coral Triangle, the richest marine region on the planet, with Papua New Guinea, the Maluku islands and the Lesser Sundas within her reach. Each itinerary is built around that geography: anchorages chosen for what lies beneath them, days shaped by light and tide rather than a schedule. Her crew run the yacht in the same spirit — attentive, discreet, and genuinely knowledgeable about the waters they navigate. It is the difference between visiting Indonesia and understanding it.
