Perla Del Mar A handcrafted wooden gulet in the traditional Turkish idiom, Perla Del Mar belongs to a family of yachts built for a particular kind of holiday: unhurried, sociable, and lived largely in the open air. The joinery does much of the talking — timber warmed by sun and salt, the sort of finish that only comes from hand tools — while a refit completed in 2024 keeps the comfort side of the equation firmly contemporary. Accommodation is unusually generous for a gulet of this character: eight cabins for sixteen guests, arranged as four cabins with a double bed and four with twin beds. That balance makes her genuinely practical for two or three families travelling together, or a group of friends who would rather not draw lots for the good cabin — everyone gets the same standard of space below deck. Life aboard follows the rhythm of the coast rather than a schedule. Mornings tend to begin with a swim straight off the transom, afternoons on deck as the shoreline slides past, evenings at anchor in a bay chosen for its quiet rather than its address. The crew work in the way that experienced gulet crews do: attentive when it matters, invisible when it doesn't, and well versed in the anchorages that reward a second night. She cruises the Turkish coast and is equally at home among the Greek Islands, where the same sixteen-guest configuration applies — pine-lined coves, small harbours worth walking into, and long passages where the sea does most of the entertaining.
