Kayra — 38 metres, built around the idea of slowing down Some yachts are conceived for speed, others for entertaining. Kayra was clearly drawn around wellbeing, and it shows in how the volume has been distributed: rather than filling every square metre with berths, she carries just eight guests in four cabins and gives the rest of the space back to the people on board. The owner's cabin sits high on the bridge deck, wrapped in close to 270 degrees of glass — which, in these waters, means waking up to limestone islands rising out of flat morning water without leaving the bed. The en-suite is generously proportioned and includes a bathtub, a rarity at this length. Three further cabins accommodate the remaining guests; on the main deck, one of them opens onto its own private balcony, so close to the surface that you hear the water rather than simply look at it. What sets Kayra apart is the wellness provision, and it is genuine rather than decorative: a dedicated spa room, a gym, a sauna and an ice bath, all within a few steps of one another, with a sunbathing area on the captain's bridge for the recovery phase. Guests who take the cold-plunge-and-sauna routine seriously will find the sequence properly thought through. Life on board organises itself by time of day. The foredeck is set for alfresco dining — shaded and breezy in the afternoon, entirely open to the stars after sunset. Higher up, the top deck lounge, bar and Jacuzzi form the natural gathering point for the golden hour, once the anchor is down and the tenders are secured. The crew works quietly around these rhythms, which is the mark of a well-run wellness programme at sea. Cruising grounds Kayra follows the Indonesian seasons. Summers are based out of Labuan Bajo in Komodo National Park, with itineraries reaching Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba, Flores, Alor and Timor. Winters shift east to Sorong, gateway to Raja Ampat, with access to Ambon, the Banda Islands, Halmahera, Ternate, West Papua, Kaimana, Biak and Wakatobi.
