Lagoon 42 · "Barney" · Croatia The Lagoon 42 has become one of the most recognisable silhouettes on the Adriatic, and *Barney* shows why. Her lines come from VPLP in collaboration with Patrick le Quément, and she carries the full set of Lagoon signatures: vertical windows that pull daylight deep into the interior, a cockpit and saloon on a single level, integral deck hatches and an ergonomically placed helm station. The result is a catamaran that feels considerably larger than her length suggests — light, bright, and easy to move around without ever queuing for space. Accommodation is arranged over four cabins for up to ten guests, with the detailed bed configuration available on request. Air conditioning serves the saloon and every guest cabin, and there is on-board Wi-Fi along with a sound and entertainment system. What families tend to appreciate most is the number of places to simply *be*: the shaded cockpit that flows straight through to the saloon, the foredeck for the flatter part of the afternoon, the trampolines when the anchor is down. Groups sailing together rarely have to negotiate over who sits where. She is a genuine sailing catamaran, not a motor yacht with a mast — a generous mainsail area gives her respectable pace when the Adriatic breeze fills in, and there is a particular satisfaction to covering ground between the Dalmatian islands under canvas rather than under engine. For the water, *Barney* carries a kayak, a stand-up paddleboard and a 3.5-metre tender with a 20 HP outboard for shore runs and exploring the quieter coves. She is offered both bareboat and with crew, depending on how much of the passage planning you would rather leave to someone else.
