Lagoon 46 "Galaxy" — Greece The Lagoon 46 has earned its following for good reason: a cruising catamaran that carries volume without feeling bulky, and holds a steady, level course under sail. "Galaxy" is a well-kept example of the type, based in Greece — a coastline that suits a catamaran perfectly, with its short hops between islands, shallow anchorages and long, windless afternoons at anchor. The saloon is the heart of the yacht. Panoramic glazing wraps the space, so you keep the horizon in view whether you are at the table, on the settee or simply watching the wake. It opens directly onto the cockpit, and in practice the two become one living area: the doors stay open, meals drift from inside to out, and nobody bothers to decide where the boundary is. Accommodation is arranged over four cabins, each with a double bed, sleeping up to eight guests. The layout suits two or three families or a group of couples equally well — the hulls keep sleeping quarters comfortably separate from the shared living space, which matters more than it sounds after a week aboard. Up top, the flybridge is the yacht's best seat: sunbathing space, room to lounge, and the elevated vantage point that makes island approaches worth watching. It is where the day tends to begin and where it usually ends. "Galaxy" charters with crew, so navigation, provisioning and the daily rhythm of the itinerary are handled for you. The Cyclades, the Saronic Gulf, the Ionian — the choice of cruising ground is yours to discuss before departure.
