NEW LAGOON 55 — Amalfi Coast, from Marina d'Arechi A 2024-built Lagoon 55, this 16.90m catamaran belongs to the generation of cruising multihulls that has quietly reshaped Mediterranean charter: wide, stable, generous under way, and blessed with the kind of usable deck space a monohull of the same length simply cannot offer. The layout runs to seven cabins for up to twelve guests, with detailed bed configuration available on request — an unusually flexible arrangement for a yacht of this size, and one that suits extended families or groups travelling together rather than a single couple. Based at Marina d'Arechi in Salerno, she sits at the right end of the coast. Amalfi, Positano and Praiano are within an easy morning's sail, with Capri and the Sorrento peninsula a natural extension of the itinerary. Shallow draft counts for a great deal here: anchorages that remain closed to deeper-keeled yachts open up to a catamaran, and lunch can be taken at anchor within sight of the cliffs rather than alongside in a crowded harbour.
