Launched in 1992 by Danish yard Orskov Yard AS and refitted in 2006, OCEAN NOVA measures 73 metres and belongs to a category apart: a genuine expedition vessel, sized and specified for the waters she works — Antarctica and the Chilean channels. Accommodation is arranged across 37 cabins for up to 67 guests, all with en-suite facilities. Twenty-eight cabins are configured with a double bed for two, five are single-occupancy cabins, and four further cabins complete the layout — detailed bed configuration available on request. The number that tells the real story, though, is the crew: 46 people aboard for 67 guests. That ratio is what makes a voyage of this kind work.
