MATA MUA — 38.50m / 126ft sailing superyacht, Spain There is a particular pleasure in sailing the Spanish coast on a yacht built for real passage-making rather than for the dock. At 38.50 metres, MATA MUA belongs to that generation of Dutch-built sailing yachts designed to cross oceans quietly and comfortably — a hull from Scheepswerf Friesland, launched in 1991, with interior design by Lemmer and a refit completed in 2024. She carries nine guests in four cabins: an owner's cabin, a VIP cabin, a further cabin with a double bed, and a cabin with twin beds. Detailed berth configuration is available on request. A crew of six looks after the yacht and her guests, which is a generous ratio at this size and shows itself in the small things — the timing of meals, the state of the deck, the way a day ashore is arranged before you have thought to ask. Under way she cruises at 10 knots with a top speed of 12, the natural rhythm of a sailing yacht rather than a schedule to be beaten. Between the Balearics and the mainland, that pace is the point: short hops, long lunches at anchor, and evenings spent on deck as the light goes.
