Gulet Altair — Croatia, Adriatic Sea Altair holds a distinction no other gulet can claim: she is the only cruising sailing ship built in Croatia. That single fact tells you most of what matters about her. She was conceived from the outset for Dalmatian charter work — not adapted to it later — marrying the traditional gulet silhouette with modern systems that make her genuinely dependable across a full season of island-hopping. A 2019 refit brought her thoroughly up to date. Dual air conditioning now serves the entire ship, and blue awnings over bow and stern come fitted with mosquito nets and close down completely against rain or a passing squall — a small detail that quietly saves an evening. Inside, the salon was redressed with designer benches and chairs, decorative cushions and refreshed white bathroom tiling, while refrigeration, all bedding and linens were replaced outright. On the bow, a new seating booth with bench and cushions gives the foredeck a second, more sheltered social corner. Accommodation runs to six en-suite cabins for twelve guests: four with a double bed and two with twin beds — a spread that works equally well for two or three families travelling together or a group of friends who would rather not share a mattress. Life aboard follows the rhythm of the Croatian coast. Meals are served alfresco on the stern deck, where a new outdoor grill handles the day's catch, or indoors in the air-conditioned salon with its bar and generous seating. Forward, a full sun mattress spans the foredeck for those who want the sun outright, with shade close at hand for anyone content to watch the Kornati or Elaphiti islands slide past over a book. The crew handle the navigation, the cooking and the logistics of a Dalmatian itinerary — anchorages, konoba reservations, timing the arrival into Hvar or Korčula so you're not fighting for a berth. For the water: stand-up paddleboards, a kayak, snorkelling gear and a towable donut for the afternoons when swimming isn't enough.
