SOLE — 24m motor sailer, Croatia Formerly KRILA 7, SOLE is a 24-metre custom-built motor sailer launched in 2006 and refitted in 2021. She belongs to a category the Adriatic does particularly well: a yacht conceived for unhurried coastal cruising rather than passage-making, at home in the narrow channels and sheltered bays between Split and the outer islands. Her accommodation is unusually consistent for a yacht of this size. Six cabins, each with a double bed and en-suite facilities, sleep twelve guests — a symmetry that suits groups of couples or extended families, where nobody draws the short cabin. It is a practical layout, and one that removes the usual negotiation over who sleeps where. At a cruising speed of seven knots, SOLE sets a rhythm rather than a schedule. Mornings tend to be spent moving between islands, afternoons at anchor. It is a pace that rewards a longer itinerary in a smaller area — the Kornati archipelago, the Pakleni islands, Vis and Hvar — where the distances are short and the appeal lies in stopping often. A crew of three looks after the yacht, the guests and the cooking, with the informality that works well aboard a vessel of this scale: attentive without ceremony, and close enough to the guests to shape each day around what the group actually feels like doing.
