MISS ELIZABETH — 17.07m (56ft) sailing catamaran, Fountaine Pajot Some yachts are built for the Caribbean; this one has simply stayed there. MISS ELIZABETH works the waters of the U.S. and British Virgin Islands year-round, summer and winter, which is the kind of continuity that shows in how a boat is run rather than how it is described. She came out of Fountaine Pajot in 2001 and was refitted in 2019. The yard's reputation rests on cruising catamarans that behave sensibly under sail and offer genuine living space rather than a compromise between the two — a shallow draft that opens up anchorages a monohull of similar length has to admire from a distance, and a wide, stable platform that stays flat at anchor. She cruises at 8 knots and tops out at 10. Accommodation is arranged across three cabins for six guests; the detailed bed configuration is confirmed on request. A crew of two runs the yacht, which on a catamaran of this size means service that is attentive without ever feeling formal — the pace of the day is set by where you want to swim, not by a schedule. The crew brings extensive Caribbean island-hopping experience, with tens of thousands of miles sailed and a particular familiarity with chartering the Exumas, where the barrier reef islands keep the seas calm while still offering plentiful wind. That knowledge of the region's waterways means routes and anchorages within a compact, easily navigated area are already well known.
