ADEA is a 18.90m (62ft) luxury catamaran launched in 2017 by Sunreef Yachts, the Gdańsk yard that has done more than most to make the multihull a credible platform for serious charter. Her appeal is straightforward: the volume and stability of a catamaran in a length that still feels intimate, with a crew of three looking after no more than eight guests. Accommodation is unusually even-handed. Four cabins, each with its own en-suite: one with a king-size bed, and three with queen-size beds. There is no hierarchy of consolation prizes here — a configuration that works particularly well for two or three couples travelling together, or for a family group where nobody has to draw the short straw. Her operating grounds are the Caribbean, from the Leewards down through the Windwards and across to the Virgin Islands. It is water a catamaran was made for: shallow draft for the anchorages the monohulls have to admire from a distance, and a wide, level deck at rest when the trades are up and the day calls for nothing more strenuous than moving from shade to sun. With three crew for eight guests, service stays close and personal — the sort of attention where preferences are noted on day one rather than asked about on day four.
