AQUARELLA — 42m Devonport, cruising Greece Some yachts wear their years well; Aquarella has been comprehensively reinvented. Built in 1994 by the British yard Devonport and the subject of a full refit completed in 2019, this 42-metre (137'10") yacht now reads as something far more contemporary than her launch date suggests — sporty in profile, sharp in detail, and genuinely quick on her feet. The interiors came out of that refit entirely new, signed by Ioanna Marinopoulos. The register is bright and deliberately pared back: warm woods offset by monochrome furnishings and white marble, with nothing competing for attention. What does hold the eye is the photography. The walls carry work by Lorenzo Agius, whose portraits include Tom Cruise, Gwen Stefani and Madonna; his image of a blindfolded Angelina Jolie commands the main salon wall and is the first thing guests encounter on stepping aboard. It sets the tone rather better than any amount of gilding would. Large windows keep the salon filled with daylight, and a glass dining table anchors the space for evenings that run long. Accommodation is arranged across five cabins for up to twelve guests: an owner's cabin, two VIP cabins, and two further cabins each fitted with twin beds. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. Deck space is generous throughout, and the large swim platform does the quiet, essential work of keeping the day connected to the water. The performance figures matter here more than usual. Seventeen knots at cruise, twenty-four flat out, and zero-speed stabilisers — a combination that turns an island-to-island Greek itinerary from a logistical calculation into a simple choice made over breakfast. Aquarella's captain and crew of eight know these waters, and the yacht has built her reputation on itineraries that reach the anchorages most charter guests never see. For the water itself, two jet skis and a selection of inflatables are carried aboard — enough to fill an afternoon in a quiet bay without turning the aft deck into a warehouse.
