M/Y LIBERDADE — 42m ISA Yachts, cruising Greece There is a particular kind of Italian yacht that manages to look fast at anchor. Liberdade is one of them: 42 metres of ISA Yachts engineering, launched in 2007 with exterior lines by Andrea Bacigalupo and an interior signed by Cristiano Gatto — two names that rarely appear on the same yacht without a coherent result. A refit completed in 2025 keeps her presentation current. The naval architecture tells the story plainly enough: 8 metres of beam, a shallow 1.52-metre draught and 319 gross tonnes, with a top speed of 30 knots. In practice, that combination is what makes her interesting in Greece — the volume of a full-displacement yacht in the saloons, the draught to tuck into the shallow bays of the Cyclades, and the legs to reposition between islands after breakfast rather than losing a day to it. Accommodation is arranged over five cabins for up to eleven guests: the owner's cabin, three cabins with double beds, and a further cabin fitted with twin beds. Detailed bed configuration is available on request. Gatto's interiors are the restrained kind — quality materials, calm palettes, nothing shouting for attention. It is a space that works as well for a long lunch that runs into the afternoon as it does for a quiet evening once the tenders are stowed. A crew of seven runs the yacht, a generous ratio at this length and the reason service aboard stays unhurried and largely invisible: the details are simply handled.
