MYRA — Classic schooner cruising, Greek waters Built by Ege Yat in Turkey in 2003 and refitted in 2022, Myra belongs to a rarer breed of charter schooner: her hull is steel, an unusual choice in a class where timber remains the norm, and one that gives her both reassurance underfoot and a certain quiet authority alongside. Everything above deck follows the traditional line. Gloss-varnished bulwarks catch the Aegean light, teak runs the length of her decks, and the wrap-around walkways with their high rails mean guests can move about the yacht easily whether she is lying at anchor or heeled over under sail — a small detail that changes the whole rhythm of a day on board. The salon sits in a raised deckhouse, and it is the room that defines her. Large ports draw in daylight and keep the coastline in view from inside; fine wood panelling and teak-and-holly inlay floors give it warmth rather than formality. To port, two dining tables seat all twelve guests with space left over. To starboard, a built-in lounge and coffee table make the natural gathering point, with a flat-screen TV and audio system for evenings in. Accommodation is arranged around the salon for six cabins and twelve guests. Four cabins are forward, each with a double bed. Two further cabins lie aft, each with twin beds. Outside, there is more room than the size suggests. The aft deck handles alfresco dining, with seating and aft-facing sunbeds and a Bimini for shade when the sun climbs. Additional sunbeds on the foredeck mean nobody has to negotiate for a spot. Myra is RINA and CE certified, and her crew look after guests with the discretion that a yacht of this character invites — attentive when needed, unobtrusive the rest of the time.
